The Ashtabula County Convention & Visitors Bureau is searching for a Marketing Manager to promote Ashtabula County and the surrounding region to attract overnight guests. Ideal candidate can evidence experience in a variety of communication platforms and the ability to execute multi-faceted marketing strategies.

Outside-of-the-box thinking and a solutions-driven attitude required.




  • Develop and execute CVB marketing campaigns
  • Manage and improve upon all social media platforms and website content, ensuring content is frequent, fresh, compelling, and consistent
  • Professionally represent the CVB around the community and within the industry
  • Maintain a high level of concentration and attention to detail with ability to multitask
  • Organized to meet deadlines and make decisions within the framework of established goals
  • Identify experiences and events most appealing to visitors
  • Understanding of audience demographics and effective tools to penetrate different markets
  • Support in the development of ambitious social media calendar and content creation
  • Work in tandem with staff and members to create FAM experiences
  • Interact with members, communicating CVB opportunities and understanding their needs
  • Apply creative thinking and initiative to analyze performance metrics
  • Organize and direct shoots with photographers and videographers
  • Communicate with media partners and make recommendations for ad choices
  • Gather and maintain library of high-quality photographs
  • Create monthly e-newsletters for members and general public
  • Respond to all customer inquiries (in physical & virtual office) in a timely and courteous fashion
  • Engage visitors in an enthusiastic manner, offering suggestions based on their interests
  • Meet with members regarding co-op and travel guide advertising
  • Engage key influencers with messaging related to strategic goals
  • Travel Guide planning and execution
  • Monitor trends and maintain current best practices
  • General office operations: phones, paperwork, assisting guests, filling requests, mailings, etc.
  • Maintain informational tools to connect the interests of consumers to area products/services
  • Deliver Travel Guides as needed
  • Assist with day-to-day operations in the information center




  • Degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, PR, Hospitality or Communications preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience demonstrating a marketing skillset
  • Interest in travel industry with a visible and infectious attitude of hospitality
  • Creative, energetic, and passionate, and can translate that energy into an authentic message that supports a positive image of Ashtabula County
  • Ability to work in a team environment and provide creative solutions to
  • Self-motivated, able to work without direct supervision, and eager to be challenged and initiate projects and opportunities
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, some travel throughout the county required
  • Must read, write, speak, and understand English well
  • Requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, seeing, hearing, and speaking
  • Must be able to lift 25+ pounds
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required
  • Proficiency in design software a plus
  • Experience in graphic design, web content management and/or photography a plus
