Job Title: Executive Director, Enjoy Oxford-Oxford Visitor’s Bureau

Reports To: Executive Committee and/or Board of Directors

About Enjoy Oxford:

Enjoy Oxford is the destination development and visitor bureau organization for the City of Oxford, Ohio. It is a 501 c 6, tax-funded, nonprofit organization. This organization works closely with the City of Oxford, but this is not a City Department. It is governed by an independent Board of Directors that set their own mission, policies, and procedures.

Organization’s Mission: To enhance the economy of the City of Oxford through marketing and promotion efforts, visitor engagement and destination development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversees all administrative, operating, and marketing functions of the organization.

Works cooperatively with the Board of Directors to create and implement strategic plans. Advises the Board and other such committees as designated.

Attends all meetings of the Board and other designated committees in an advisory, non-voting capacity.

Directs the preparation of the annual budget that supports the mission and activities of the organization and presents it to the Board for approval.

Manages the organization's finances responsibly and creates financial reports and annual audit reports in accordance with procedures approved by the Board. The annual operating budget is approximately $270K.

Develops and supervises the implementation of an annual operating and marketing plan, in order to promote Oxford as a destination to local, state, regional, national and international audiences.

Implements and supervises the marketing and promotion of Oxford as a destination.

Coordinates and implements the Uptown Music Concert Series and other events/activities as needed, as an economic driver for the City of Oxford.

Works closely with other community organizations to promote and grow their events as an economic driver for the city.

Establishes and maintains ongoing effective communications with board members, local government leaders, Miami University leaders, business and cultural institution leaders, event planners and the local tourism industry.

Represents the organization at selected local, state, regional and national conventions that serve to foster the betterment of the organization’s mission.

Develops and maintains effective organizational policies and ensures all organization activities are implemented within these established policies, guidelines, laws and ethical standards.

Selects, trains, supervises and evaluates assigned personnel; coordinates staff training; oversees implementation of discipline and termination procedures for all staff members. Currently, the staff is 2 full-time staff and up to 4 part-time event staff.

A visionary with the ability to present fresh ideas and think outside of the box.

Required Qualifications:

Four-year degree from an academic institution; community development, marketing, nonprofit management, or business major preferred.

5-7 years of related professional experience.

5-7 years of experience in marketing and nonprofit and/or business management.

5-7 years experience in strategic planning and budget development/implementation in the amounts of $200K + per year.

Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.

Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to provide leadership.

Experience in supervision with proven ability to recruit, train and develop staff.

Demonstrated ability to develop website and social media content and the ability to review and interpret data analytics from these sources.

Prefer competency in general information technology skills including: GSuite administration, online mail services, CRM tools, basic computer installations, and ability to use computer programs including word processing and creation of spreadsheets.

Salary: $48-56K/annually
