Visit Lorain County is the destination marketing organization for Lorain County, Ohio. Located in north central Ohio, Visit Lorain County combines and markets the area’s assets to promote visitation and patronage of local businesses and lodging establishments. Our mission is to increase the economic impact of tourism to Lorain County.

Visit Lorain County is currently seeking strong, highly creative candidates for the position of Marketing and Content Manager. The following are primary duties performed by this position:

Content Marketing:

Build and manage the organization’s social media profiles, and distribute creative content among a number of social media channels including (but not limited to) Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Flickr, Foursquare, Vine, YouTube, Pinterest, Blogs and other new and relevant sources of social media. Includes the use of text, images and video.
Monitor and analyze effectiveness of social media.
Strategize for electronic promotions, online contests and new ideas for engagement.
Manage website content input including data and calendar of events. Manage seasonal interns in data entry and social media content creation.
Distribute relevant business and event information to external information sources and events.
Maintain and update two blogs.
Oversee and edit newsletter distribution.

Marketing and Communications

Write and distribute press releases. Maintain an accurate and up-to-date media list.
Manage and/or assist in all PR activities (outdoor writers fam tours, heritage writers/Underground Railroad media tours, general media coverage).
Itinerary and trip planning for media.
 Develop and maintain an advertising schedule for online, electronic and print advertising, working with ad salespeople for best placement and exposure. Point of contact for all advertising representatives.
Assist in booking and working industry and consumer trade shows.
Copywriting for printed and electronic marketing materials.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities needed

Bachelors degree in journalism, communications, English, marketing, advertising or equivalent experience
Love of and mastery of written communication
Excellent editing skills and careful attention to detail and accuracy are a must.
Strong grasp of photography, video and editing using tools such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere.
Knowledge of SEO, Analytics, WordPress and basic HTML.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, internet and social networking
Enthusiasm and knowledge for Lorain County and the outdoor industry. A positive, good natured personality and sense of humor a big plus
Highly organized and able to manage and prioritize work flow
Knowledge of online database management systems, project management (Basecamp), Sprout Social and Dropbox a plus.
