The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum is currently considering applicants for the position of Manager of Sales. The Manager of Sales reports to the Director of Sales and is responsible for sales of the Museum's facility rentals program, generating revenue, acquiring new business, and maintaining relationships with existing clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responsible for the sales of Museum’s facility rentals program including:

Actively sells facility rentals program to prospects, including convention clients, local corporate events and other new business prospects.
Attends industry trade shows, meetings, and networking events to generate leads.
Coordinate site visits for new prospects to familiarize them with the space.
Conducts local sales calls to generate new business.
Solicits new business by reaching out to prospects and existing clients.
Responds to facility rental inquiries received via phone and email.

2. Responsible for local field sales of facility rentals program.

Develops and executes monthly field sales action plan.
Schedules meetings with qualified local meeting and event planners to present facility rentals program.
Conducts sales presentations to potential clients during sales calls and meetings.
Reviews Facility Rentals Guide with prospects.
Explains pricing and the facility rentals process to prospects.
Follows up with prospects to close the sale.
Develops a repeatable sales model that ensures consistent success and revenue growth.

3. Acts as Museum’s representative at trade shows and networking events.

Attends trade shows throughout the year to generate new business and maintain relationships with clients.
Participates in industry networking events regularly to acquire new leads.
Attends chamber of commerce networking meetings and events.
Attends Rotary Club of Cleveland weekly lunches.
Identifies additional sales opportunities to increase Museum’s visibility at industry trade shows and networking events (i.e., sponsorships, ads in program booklet, presentations at luncheons, etc.).

4. Reaches out to existing clients to maintain relationships and capture additional business.

Reviews event with client and ensures their satisfaction with the Museum.
Contacts clients regularly to build solid relationships and ask for repeat or new business.
Sustains rapport with key accounts by making periodic visits, exploring specific needs and anticipating new opportunities.
Invites clients to Museum exhibit opening events and educational programs to highlight new products and keep the Museum top of mind.
Send special repeat business offers to clients to close the sale.

5. Actively maintain a database of prospects and clients.

Tracks all outreach to prospects to analyze progress from initial contact to close of sale.
Record all client contact to ensure strategic and frequent outreach.
Knowledge of Patron Edge and Raiser’s Edge Scheduling system to research clients and track sales.

6. Works with catering company sales staff to generate new leads.

Attends catering company networking events.
Conducts sales calls with catering company to close the sale if needed.
Maintains open communication to share prospect and client leads.
Works with catering company on cross-selling when appropriate.

7. Maintains relationship with Positively Cleveland Conventions and Meetings Sales Managers

Cultivates relationship with sales managers to capture conventions and meetings business.
Ensures sales managers have Museum’s facility rental sales materials and tools.
Checks in with sales managers periodically to see if they have leads or need information.

8. Responsible for direct supervision of Sales Assistant on a daily basis.

Assigns specific duties and projects.

Duties include but may not be limited to the above.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor Degree in related field.
Three to five years sales experience. Two to three years scheduling and coordinating events.
Two to three years management/supervisory experience in a dynamic environment; preferably front-line hospitality experience where there is significant exposure and contact with customers/visitors.
Ability to successfully pass a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum reference check, background investigation and drug screening.
Computer Literate: Microsoft Products; Database Management System.
Ability to get along with other people.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Ability to work up to 40 hours per week; any shift as assigned, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Ability to work additional hours as workload demands. Hours are primarily 8:30 am – 5:30 pm Monday through Friday.

STARTING SALARY: Commensurate with experience. (Full-Time/Exempt)
