Meet OTA’s New Tourism Management Intern, Lisa Baer

Please join us in welcoming our newest intern, Lisa Baer. Lisa is a third-year student from Heilbronn University in Heilbronn, Germany and is pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management. In her studies, she focuses on International Business & Management as well as Business Travel and the MICE industry (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Events). She has always had a passion for different languages, cultures and traveling.

Lisa grew up in a small town with only 1,600 people named Mösbach. It is next to the Black Forest and located in the southwest region of Germany. In high school, she participated in various student exchange programs with the UK and Spain and traveled a lot in Europe.

After graduating high school, she moved to the U.S. for one year and worked as an Au-Pair for an American host family in Dublin, Ohio. During this year, she also visited many landmarks and cities in the United States. All the experiences she had made during this year were the reason she became interested in the travel sector and eventually started studying Tourism Management in 2015.

Ohio in general, and especially the Columbus area, became her second home. She is very excited about doing the full-time internship at OTA from March through August. Lisa will be working on a variety of projects here at OTA, especially involving event management and assisting with the planning of the 2017 Ohio Conference on Travel. She can be reached at intern@ohiotravel.org.
