A post-Labor Day school starting date will increase jobs and economic activity in
Ohio
. Starting school after Labor Day will also provide additional family and vacation time. It will give an important and traditional part of summer back to
Ohio
families. This is a non-partisan issue. It will not negatively impact the quality of education since it does not decrease (or increase) the number of days per year students attend school. The State of
Michigan
recently enacted this legislation which created immediate and well-documented benefits to the travel industry and the
Michigan
economy.
