Duties & Responsibilities

Manage proactive media outreach via active pitching to increase destination exposure through consumer tourism stories (print and online)Establish relationships with travel media/journalists and fulfill all media requests (including images, b-roll, etc) to assist with story developmentCoordinate and host custom press visits in collaboration with Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky CVBsTrack all media engagements and coverage and provide regular reportsLead relationship-building with PR contacts at regional hospitality partners (attractions and hotels, CVBs) and RTN corporate partnersMaintain day to day interactions with communications contractor and ensures on-time, on-budget execution of plansIdentify and garner new outer market promotions and on-air interviewsServe as RTN representative on Cincinnati USA Communication AllianceDevelop content and distribute media eblastDevelop and execute communications to educate stakeholders and public about RTN programs, initiatives, and impactsMaintain and update media databaseCoordinate with Marketing Manager to assist in content creation for social media effortsPerform other duties as assigned by Director of Marketing & Communications

Summary of essential job functions

Must demonstrate leadership, strategic thinking, analytical and collaboration skills. Demonstrate experience in gaining alignment to key projects with hotel and/or attraction leadership.

Minimum Requirements

4 year degree preferably in marketing, communication, public relations or journalism.3-5 years experience executing marketing/communications plans, including media relations experience and relationships with local/regional mediaExcellent written communication skills including a command of grammar usage, vocabulary and proofreading ability. Ability to present information publicly and speak professionally with reporters and stakeholders Experience in media and public relations program developmentProficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel Power Point, Outlook)Ability to multi-talk in a fast-paced environment and maintain a strong attention to detail with organization skills.Strong interpersonal and team support skills in multi-tasking environmentRelated tourism and/or attraction industry work experience a plus
