Visit Grove City is seeking a Marketing and Group Tour Manager. 

Marketing Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in setting and achieving the goals set forth within the organization’s Marketing Plan.
  • Create a monthly Marketing Report outlining progress toward marketing goals.
  • Group sales – Develop itinerary options by working with local attractions to create experiential opportunities for groups, work with our graphic designer to create flyers/brochures depicting the options, and network with local attractions and sports teams to forge partnerships. Create and maintain profile sheets for individual trade shows, Experience Columbus’ Group Tour Council Co-op and Ohio Has It! Co-op. Assist in identifying best outlets for marketing to Group Tour Operators and Motor Coach Companies. Participate in Group Tour Council and other industry related groups, co-op and trade shows.Overnight travel is required to attend industry related trade shows within the United States and Canada.
  • Represent Grove City’s tourism industry by meeting with tour planners, manning a sponsor table and attending trade show inclusive events. Develop follow-up materials to send out after travel trade shows, track and respond to leads and create trade show recap reports for each show.
  • Conduct Familiarization (FAM) Tours and site visits that sometimes require evening and weekend availability.
  • Social Media Strategy - Help create and maintain a social media strategy that suits the Bureau’s needs by marketing Grove City as a premier lodging destination while also representing the Bureau among industry partners and residents. Social media presence includes facebook, twitter, linked in, four square, instagram, pinterest, tumblr, and klout, with potential for additional outlets as they develop.
  • Writing Skills – Help copy write content for website, visitors guide, marketing pieces and blogs, offer creative input on marketing and advertising projects. Digital marketing background a strong plus.
  • Website – Assist with creative process in collaborative effort to maintain content relevancy including writing for SEO, blogging, and managing database of current photos for Bureau’s website.
  • Develop new partnerships and networking relationships while maintaining current relationships with industry partners to further Grove City’s diverse tourism industry.
  • Become a Certified Tourism Ambassador and Facilitator through Experience Columbus, assist the Executive Director in facilitating the program for Grove City tourism partners.
  • Attend and participate in Group Tour Council meetings, educational and tourism related seminars, trade shows and other industry related events. Overnight travel required.

General Reception Duties:

  • Field a variety of calls regarding Grove City and the surrounding area including requests for information about local events and attractions, brochures, etc., greet visitors and provide directions/information as requested.
  • Prepare “Welcome Bags” with local information, maps, and coupons when available for visitors to the area. Procure items to include in Welcome Bags by working directly with local businesses.
  • Mailings – Assist with preparation and mailing of brochures, flyers, etc. as needed, send Visitors Packets as requested, and maintain lists of leads for future mailings.
  • Calendar – Assist with overseeing community calendar on website ensuring that Grove City and Greater Columbus Area events are populated.
  • Miscellaneous – General office duties, create marketing materials as needed, restock supplies, light cleaning, and other duties as assigned.
  • Attend Board Meetings and committee meetings as requested.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to maintain agency confidentiality standards.
  • Must be able to work under short-term deadlines and work under stress.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to walk, stand and sit for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel and bend.
  • Reading and writing proficiency in English is required.
  • Must possess good common sense, reasoning and judgment, problem-solving and analytical skills. Must be flexible and adaptable.
  • Able to read, analyze and interpret data.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer application skills in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, and Powerpoint) and other enterprise software preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced creative writing skills preferred.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college/university; and/or 3-4 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required, preferably in digital marketing or communications.
  • Must be a self-starter that can work both independently and under the direction of the Executive Director.
  • Must possess the ability to work in a fast paced environment. Must be able to prioritize tasks, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, while adhering to tight deadlines. Detail oriented.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in written format. Must possess the skills to effectively present and communicate information in written form via reports and business correspondence.
  • Good working knowledge of the Digital Marketing technologies and Ohio’s travel industry preferred.
